Cycling

The Mitta Valley has wonderful opportunities for a cycling holiday. From leisurely tours along quiet and scenic country roads to challenging rides in the mountains, the region has it all. Combine a cycle weekend with a night or two in one of the Valley’s welcoming accommodation options and you can cycle by day and relax and dine by night, enjoying true country hospitality.

For the serious cyclist the Mitta Valley can be reached off the High Country Rail Trail that starts in Albury/Wodonga. If you are cycling from Albury/Wodonga along the Rail Trail you turn off the trail a few kilometers past Tallangatta onto the Omeo Highway. Alternatively a few kilometer further along the trail, after crossing the Mitta River, you can turn right into Yabba Road and start your exploration of the Mitta Valley along this quiet country road.

Each year in late December the Magnificent Mitta Mountain Ride is held from Anglers Rest in the Victorian Alps down to Mitta Mitta. To find out more or get involved then follow us on Facebook.
